The Week of Chocolate 2013
Saturday, January 26 - Saturday, February 3
The most anticipated winter festival is coming!
Held at various location in Bloomington, Indiana

The Week of Chocolate (WOC) is a week-long community-wide festival that takes place at the end of January and beginning of February. It has been in existence for over 10 years! Every day of the week a different nonprofit organization hosts a chocolate themed fundraising event to raise money in support of their mission. All funds raised at each event go directly to the agency putting on the event (i.e., Martha's House's Making Truffles event raises money exclusively for Martha's House). LIFEDesigns (formerly Options) organizes the set-up for the festival and acts as the hosting agency for the WOC overall, but the WOC is a great collaboration between all 8 agencies involved and would not be successful without everyone involved.

Most of the organization's hold the same event for their organization each year which become signature fundraisers for them. Many people come to each event every year. It is a great way to raise awareness for the causes each organization supports while also enjoying something almost everyone loves: chocolate! Come on out and enjoy the most exciting thing Bloomington has to offer at the chilly end of January....and help us spread the word about this highly enjoyed and anticipated event.

The Art of Chocolate is LIFEDesigns (learn more about LIFEDesigns, the organization formerly called Options, below) signature event. The evening is a elegant soiree held at the gorgeous Indiana University Art Museum.

Food is served by some of the top chefs in the city including Feast, IMU, Angel B's, KRC, Sweet Grass, Scholar's Inn and Eagle Pointe along with wine from Oliver and Chocolate Martini's from Malibu. Live jazz music from the Keith McCutchen Quintet fills the air as guests mingle, taste the savory and sweet treats and enjoy a drink or two...or maybe more!

In the first floor art gallery, the melodious piano playing of Craig Brenner will be heard as guests view the world renowned IU Art Museum display. To top this lovely evening off there is a silent art auction filled with pieces from some of the areas best local visual artists and tickets to local performing arts events. With a wide range of 2D, 3D and functional art at all prices ranges, as well as tickets to theatre, musical performances and dance, there is something for everyone.

The visual art sold at the auction benefits the artist and LIFEDesigns with profits from all sales being split between the two. This is a great way to help a good cause and support our local artists at the same time.
