We have Nestle Milkybar chocolate here in New Zealand too, it was always a favorite growing up, rich, creamy, and very sweet. As a child I can remember we had these ads on TV featuring a blonde haired boy in a sherrifs outfit on a train that was being hijacked and of course the train was carrying treasure chests full of milky bars. It stopped running years ago until ....check this out!!

"Since August 9, parents and guardians have been invited to film a short audition video of their children using a script from www.milkybar.co.nz and upload them to the website for their chance to fill the iconic boots of this much-loved character. The chosen child will star in the new 2011 MILKYBAR television commercial, and enter the hearts (and lounges) of Kiwis as part of one of New Zealand's most iconic television campaigns. The child just needs to be between 7 and 10 years old and possess a certain star quality."

So as you can see a very popular chocolate with the Kiwis!

Hi there - yes Nestle milky Bars are yum and have always been yum here in NZ. We have had heaps of fun doing the video audition then massive excitement when the call came to say he had a casting call. The casting call was a new experience but heaps of fun (after which he said felt sooo amazing he couldnt explain it - total euphoria) then the call to say he was one of the 10 finalists. We didn't tell him then as it had to be revealed on TV so his whole school decided they would watch the reveals on good morning each day - when his name was read out all the kids went ballistic with excitement and are totally behind him. Now all 10 are revealed we have to wait the long 3 weeks to see who did the best job and gets the nod as the new milky bar kid for 2011. Well done to the winner; but had to laugh at the way the Press claimed she was fluent in Te reo; yet when asked on TV to say the milky bars are on me, she couldn't! Think she may need some speech/elocution training to satisfy the demands of the commercial director but obviously she has the ideal looks for the position.
