This recipe makes chocolate ice cream that is mouthwatering - everyone will love it. You can add chocolate sauce, fruit and bananas for an old-fashioned split. It is easy enough for almost anyone to make this delicious recipe.

Looking back in time, we find that ice cream recipes first appeared in 18th century in England and America according to Wikipedia. In the United States, ice cream made with just cream, sugar, and a flavoring (usually fruit) is sometimes referred to as "Philadelphia style" ice cream. Ice creams made with eggs, usually in the form of custards, are "French" ice creams.

Need:

Blender
Freezer container

Ingredients:

1/4 cup baking cocoa
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup half-and-half cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup heavy whipping cream

Directions:

  • Combine cocoa, sugar, half-and-half and vanilla in blender.
  • Blend on low speed until smooth.
  • Stir in whipping cream.
  • Pour into container for freezing.
  • Freeze 2-3 hours or until frozen.

Makes:

6 servings or 3/4 quart.
